How does Tourplan send emails and why are mine not being sent?
Modified on 21 December 2012 11:00 AM

Tourplan (as a Windows based application) uses the Windows MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface) spooler to send email. This is the same application used by Outlook and most Windows based email programs - Lotus Notes, Eudora etc.

If mail is not being sent, the cause of this is usually that the User’s Mail Profile set in Tourplan (INI Maintenance) does not match the user's actual Mail Profile. This can be checked by looking at what the User Mail Profile is in Windows Control Panel.

Open Control Panel, Mail and select ‘Show Profiles’. You will see the user's Profile set.  Whatever is in here is what should be set in INI Maint in Tourplan, e.g. if the Mail Profile says ‘Outlook’, that is what must be in the USERMAILLOGON setting in INI Maint.

An explanation of how to set the USERMAILLOGON is here.
